This scholarly book focuses on how four artists, namely Marna de Wet, Kevin du Plessis, Jean Lampen and Elna Venter, ascribed meaning to songs of the Romantic era by Franz Schubert, Hector Berlioz, Gabriel Fauré and Richard Strauss.
