The telecommunication market is changing very rapidly. On the one hand, the basic technologies for telecommunication in general are developing very fast. On the other hand, the liberalisation of the telecommunication market has urged the existing network operators to open their networks to new suppliers. A result is the network for everyone. The offered network services will be crucial with respect to the competition in the future market. Therefore, the telecommunication market will have to use existing networks efficiently and to control them. Also, the conception of innovative services and the provisioning of these new services will be an important task. These future services will have to meet a number of requirements as described in the introduction of this book.
